To use that favorite bit about the slippery slope; if a president Trump were to force states to do the federal governments bidding on immigration, a serious precedent would be set and later presidents could use it to force states to do their bidding. Not a good thing in the long run.
Our immigration system is broken, our borders don’t exist, something must be done. Hopefully the Trump administration will find a way without infringing on states rights. How about building that wall, sealing the border where even a mouse cant get through. Then, get congress to pass a law making illegal immigration a felony, not just a civil offense. Anyone caught here illegally would go strait to jail, not passing GO, not collecting benefits. This is a deterrent.
