Listening to Trump talk about this for months on the campaign trail with his authoritarian style could lean one to believe his rhetoric. No jobs were going to leave, period.
We know how things get reported and the numbers rounded up or down depending on who is telling it but Donald Trump takes the cake.
Originally reports said that 1,400 would be laid off and 300 to 400 would stay. Now, Trump claims he saved 1,100 jobs, however, according to Chuck Jones it is actually 730 jobs, or 800 in the article below, but if you add the others who weren’t going anyway, you get to the 1,100.
Jones did not get to speak with Trump when the President-elect visited Carrier last week. But he said he was angry when Trump praised Carrier for “keeping 1,100 people” in jobs that won’t move to Mexico. The real number is 800.
